Traditional Rugs

Traditional rugs also sometimes called Persian rugs or Oriental rugs add charm and elegance to any interior living space, and are very commonly used in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and even kitchens. Traditional Area Rugs are also sometimes called Oriental Rugs. The traditional designs mostly have early 18th century patterns, with Persian influence very dominant.The traditional rugs have design elements like geometric shapes, borders and flowers. These rugs have a very rich history and the origin of their patterns can be traced back to countries like Iran, Afghanistan, China, Turkey, India and Uzbekistan. Historically traditional wool rugs were made from wool and natural dyes, using traditional hand knotted techniques, but since last couple of decades large scale rug manufactures like Oriental Weavers & Nourison have been weaving synthetic fibers into traditional rug patterns, to meet the growing demand of affordable floor coverings by residential consumers.
